(Stowe, Vermont) – March 5, 2015 – James Repici was awarded the 2015 Stowe Story Labs PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Fellowship for the inaugural Stowe Story Labs Writers’ Retreat, May 15-19 in Stowe, Vermont. Repici was a 2014 Page Awards quarterfinalist with his coming of age drama, DIANA. He will attend the writers’ retreat, along with 15 other screenwriters with strong narrative scripts, to work one-on-one with top industry mentors, benefit from peer networking, and dedicated writing time.
“I can’t wait to get back to work on my screenplay, Diana, at the Stowe Story Labs. I think Diana will benefit, greatly, from guidance provided by both the mentors and writers at the retreat.” said Repici.
Stowe Story Labs is a non-profit organization offering programs to help emerging screenwriters, filmmakers and creative producers get their work made and seen. The Labs were founded by David Rocchio, a Vermont based writer and filmmaker. Rocchio partnered with the PAGE International Screenwriters Awards in 2014 to offer fellowships to quarterfinalists in the prestigious PAGE screenwriting competitions.
“James’ work is compelling and he shows a focused and interesting approach to getting his work made,” said Rocchio. “We are excited to award him the first Retreat Fellowship. We have sixteen strong writers and five fantastic industry mentors coming to Stowe in May. The writers are all fantastic and choosing one of them for the fellowship was extremely difficult. We now are just excited for May.”
