Alex Boden

BOARD MEMBER

Alex is a board member and former Chair of the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) and is a voting member of BAFTA, the European Film Academy (EFA) and the Producers Guild of America (PGA), and is a member of the German-French Academy. 

He is an award-winning film and TV producer specialising in international productions and co-productions, with extensive experience working with Germany, Italy, the USA and Japan. He most recently produced the Max crime drama series TOKYO VICE in Japan, about an American journalist who becomes embroiled in the Japanese criminal underworld and is in post-production on season 2 of the series, which was created by Tony Award-winning playwright J.T. Rogers and stars Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe. 

Alex’s recent credits include: Terence Malick’s latest film, starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Sir Mark Rylance; the Netflix fantasy/ adventure series CURSED, a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend co-created by Frank Miller/ Tom Wheeler; the ground-breaking Netflix series SENSE8, directed by the Wachowskis, which filmed in 17 cities globally, for which he was nominated for a Producers Guild of America Award in 2019; the grand-scale fantasy epic CLOUD ATLAS starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry; the award-winning independent documentary feature PULP, which opened the Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2014; the Scandi-Noir film anthology INTRIGO, starring Sir Ben Kingsley; and Lionsgate’s Fantasporto award-winning thriller THE HOLDING.

Alex is a Board Member and Mentor at Stowe Story Labs (Vermont, USA) and a member of the French-German Film Academy. He supports various charities, including the Woolf Institute.

Fluent in English, French and German, his personal interests beyond film and TV include theatre, languages, travel and yoga.
