Ali Doyle
Ali Doyle is an Irish film producer, development producer and Head of Development at Newgrange Pictures (part of Yellow Film Studios), where she leads the company’s English-language feature and television slate. She works closely with talent, packaging projects for the market, developing broadcaster commissions, and building co-production partnerships that maximise Ireland’s creative and financing opportunities.
Ali began her career on Irish film sets, learning the craft as a Trainee AD while producing independent shorts. She moved to Los Angeles in 2014, expanding her international experience as Sales Coordinator and Development Executive at Voltage Pictures, working across a diverse slate of high-profile projects, building a sharp commercial instinct alongside her creative drive.
Returning to Dublin, Ali was quickly snapped up by Wild Atlantic Pictures. She was promoted to Head of Development in 2021, overseeing an ambitious slate of feature and television projects and championing new talent. During this time, she worked closely with Wildcard Distribution, serving as Development Producer on Rich Peppiatt’s KNEECAP, which won the 2024 Sundance Audience Award and was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics, and on Aislinn Clarke’s Irish-language folk horror FRÉWAKA.
Alongside her studio work, Ali runs her own newly formed production banner, MENTAL PICTURES, a genre film production company focused on horror, psychological thrillers, and the darker side of life. Founded in 2025, the company was born out of a desire to carve out space in the industry, not just for herself, but for a new wave of Irish genre storytellers eager to take bold, brave, and disruptive risks. With a tagline like “Get the Mental Picture,” the mission is clear: to shake things up on our screens. To give audiences what they want, the safety of a scare from the comfort of a cinema seat or their own sofa.,Mental Pictures also places a major emphasis on emerging talent, with a strong commitment to breaking down industry gatekeeping and giving underrepresented voices the space and support to take creative risks and doing something different. The company aims to build a new legacy for Irish genre filmmaking, one that’s dark, bold, raw, smart, and unforgettable.
In the past she has also produced Screen Ireland-backed shorts THE WAKE and GLITTERBUG, both of which screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals. She is passionate about supporting emerging writers and directors with fearless, singular visions.
Ali is a Puttnam Scholar, an Advanced Producer 2020 alumni, an EAVE Producers Workshop 2023 alum, and the 2024 Irish participant of Inside Pictures, one of the industry’s most competitive and prestigious talent labs. She also mentors for Screen Ireland and Stowe Story Labs. She is deeply committed to championing distinctive voices and developing stories that move, unsettle, provoke thought, and entertain audiences around the world.
