Brandi Nicole
Brandi Nicole is a writer/performer whose work centers on women fighting to return to themselves. Growing up in a world that was filled with a mix of beauty and brutality, her work often holds the same. It's no wonder she's found herself writing for legal/crime dramas including Your Honor (Showtime/Netflix), Happy Face (Paramount +), and Ballard (Amazon), the female-driven cold case detective show set in the Bosch universe, where she's currently staffed. Brandi’s work has sold to BET, been awarded the Emergence Filmmaker Grant, the ABFF HBO Short Film Award, selected for the Ryan Murphy Half Initiative Program, and garnered over 180k views on YouTube via Issa Rae’s #ShortFilmSundays. A mom to three boys (and one furbaby girl), Brandi splits her time between her home in the southeast and her work in LA, and is eternally grateful for the Zoom and hybrid rooms that have allowed her the flexibility to do so. In her free time Brandi advocates for the sexual assault survivor community; works with creatives as a workshop instructor; serves as a mentor for the Stowe Story Lab and the Writers Access Support Training Program; produces short films with friends; and decompresses via her first love: musical theatre.
