Claire Best
Claire Best started her career in documentaries in the United Kingdom before moving to Los Angeles and turning to shorts and features. She became a production executive at New Line Cinema and Fine Line Features and later an agent. She has always been a supporter (sometimes financially via her UK company ‘Unlimited Pictures Limited”, as well as creatively) of independent film, unique and unusual stories and talent.
In 2010 she founded Claire Best & Associates www.clairebest.net, an international talent agency representing some of the most respected names in the entertainment industry for film, television and commercials. The agency was launched to service the growing need to form a nimble and more strategic approach to representation in worldwide production including financing and packaging. Recognizing the thirst to freshen up previous trends across the various media formats, they work with clients and filmmakers to expand their respective creative horizons. As well as representing individual talent, they also represent production companies and have a successful track record in packaging and setting up films and television productions with financing and talent both domestically and overseas. Since its inception their clients have garnered numerous accolades including multiple Oscar®, Golden Globe, Emmy, BAFTA, César, Golden Lion, LOLAS and Guild nominations and wins.
Her credits as a Producer, Executive Producer, Associate Producer or Production Executive include “Starfish”, “Stooge”, “How to Lose Your Lover”, “Cleopatra’s Second Husband”, “The Hardly Boys in Hardly Gold”, “Boiler Room”, “The Red Violin”, “Pecker”, “Hedwig & The Angry Inch”, “Gummo” and “Naked Making Lunch”. She is a voting member of BAFTA.
Claire lives in Los Angeles and is married to TV Producer/Screenwriter Jordan Hawley. They have two daughters (one in college currently and the other recently graduated) and two dogs.
