STOWE STORY LABS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE FELLOWSHIP WINNER FOR THE AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL FELLOWSHIP, A NEW PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN STOWE STORY LABS AND THE AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL

Imogen Grace has been awarded the first Stowe Story Labs/Austin Film Festival Fellowship. We are excited to offer this fellowship, and offer Imogen congratulations for the award. Through this fellowship, Imogen will attend Stowe’s September Narrative Lab running September 5 - 8 in Stowe, Vermont.

We thank the team at Austin Film Festival for their meaningful support and partnership. We look forward to working with Imogen and the team at AFF.

2025 AFF Fellow

Imogen Grace — Montréal, Quebec, CA — The Golden Land // Drama, True Crime, Mystery TV 1 hour

Logline: Beginning in the 1960s with a murder case in the California desert, and taking us on a decades-long journey through the life and career of the iconoclast journalist Joan Didion, The Golden Land is a biographical true-crime odyssey about a writer whose voice defined an era.

Bio: Imogen Grace is a Montréal-based film and television writer, recently named by Austin Film Festival as a 2025 Screenwriter to Watch. She won the 2024 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Award (Sci-Fi/Fantasy category) for her feature screenplay Audrey, and is an alumna of the 2020 Canadian Film Centre Bell Media Prime Time TV Program. While at CFC, Imogen was the recipient of the inaugural Denis McGrath Bursary Award, a joint initiative with the Writers Guild of Canada. In 2024 she was selected for the Bechdel Project Residency program in New York, for her project The Golden Land. She  is currently in development on multiple film and TV projects. She has a background in TV production on series like SUITS and The Umbrella Academy, and studied acting at American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York. Her work explores motherhood, flawed healing journeys, and the search for belonging.
