Sophia Chin McManus
INTERN
Sophia Chin McManus (she/her) is a Yale University undergraduate majoring in Film and Comparative Literature on the literary translation track. An aspiring story editor, she has experience across creative development, production, and video editing, and most recently completed on-set work experience for the BBC crime drama Hope Street.
Sophia has supported the development process at Anton Corp, Keeper Pictures, Vico Films, Baboon Animation, and Valerie Steinberg Productions, contributing to project evaluation, research, and materials for independent features as well as animated and live-action series. Through the Yale International Relations Association, she has helped organize large-scale international conferences in Korea, Taiwan and Brazil, and she gained additional event planning and marketing experience while interning with the DPA Group. On campus, she works as a Video Production Assistant for the Yale Peabody Museum.
Fluent in English and Portuguese, and conversational in Mandarin, French and the Taishanese dialect, Sophia brings a global perspective to storytelling and a particular interest in narratives that bridge cultures. Outside of work, she enjoys singing with her acapella group, translating, and practicing kung-fu.
