Mireia Vilanova
Mireia Vilanova is an animation and live action producer from Barcelona based in Los Angeles. Her work has been featured in festivals all over the world, including Sundance, Toronto, Locarno and Tribeca, and has received numerous accolades, including the Jury Award for Animation at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival for Living with a Visionary. She currently serves as Producer and Head of Originals at the boutique animation studio Cartuna, where she oversees original development, co-productions and co-financing opportunities for film, television and short form. At Cartuna, she has been fortunate to work on some of the world's greatest animation franchises, including SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, and Monster High. As an independent producer in the live action space, her past feature credits include By Design (Sundance, distributed by Music Box), I Live Here Now (Locarno, distributed by Utopia), Sender (SXSW) and Cece's Interlude (Sundance TAAF grant recipient). Upcoming animated projects include Moonfish (recipient of the Biennale College Cinema grant) and Silence Sometimes (Berlinale Co-Production Market winner, Sundance Producers Lab).
Mireia is a proud member of the Television Academy, where she serves on the Animation Peer Group Executive Committee, the Producers Guild of America and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). She is a Sundance Producers Lab Fellow, Berlinale Talent, PGA Create Fellow, Film Independent Project Involve Fellow, Women in Film Fellow, and a recipient of the Berlinale VFF Talent Highlight Award. She holds an MFA from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program.
